Sabal  Trace is a community located in North Port, Florida. Homes in this  community include both single-family homes and attached homes and are usually in the Florida or contemporary style. They were built between 1997 and  2003. These homes offer 2 to 3 bedrooms and 2 to 2 bathrooms. Residences  range in size from 2378 to 3161 square feet in living space. Prices of  homes for sale in Sabal Trace currently range from $73,900 to $314,900.    

The  City of North Port received, reviewed, and approved four petitions for  the redevelopment of the property formerly known  as the Sabal Trace  Golf Course.  The applicant wishes to develop the  subject property as a  primarily residential community of no more than  500 dwelling units  with a minor component of mixed-uses located at its  southern entrance.   To do so, the applicant is concurrently requesting  the following to  allow for a coordinated combination of residential,  commercial, and  professional office space:

  • A  Large Scale Comprehensive Plan text and map amendments to  change the  future land use designation from Recreation Open Space to  Activity  Center #9 with supporting policies;
  • A  Rezoning to change the current zoning district from Commercial   Recreation to Planned Community Development (PCD) with Development   Master Plan (DMP) approval; and
  • A  text amendment to Chapter 55 of the Unified Land Development  Code  (ULDC) to include intensity, density, urban design standards,   amenities, and uses criteria for the proposed Activity Center #9.

Venice

Venice one of the older communities in Venice Florida with county water and sewer. It has a voluntary homeowners association, and is located between US 41 and Bal Harbour Drive.Minutes to shopping, restaurants, banking, beaches & downtown.

There are 1850 homes in Venice Gardens which were built between 1957 and 2005; many of the homes have a  lakefront. Older houses have two bedrooms and one or two bathrooms with  living area of 884 – 1800 square feet. Newer houses have three bedrooms  and two bathrooms with heated area of 1153 – 1980 square feet.

Many people like to live in Venice Gardens because there is no restriction on ages or pets. It has a voluntary homeowner association, with no fees to pay unless you want to use the pool and the community center. Individual memberships are $95 per year and $125 for a family  membership.
